IDC Enterprise Mobility Conference 2013 | Mероприятия | IDC Russia

Today’s business environment seems to be saturated with mobility. Once a buzz word, mobility has quickly become an essential part of business processes for many companies. Mobility contributes to greater employee satisfaction and boosts productivity as it allows for greater flexibility and comfort in the execution of day-to-day operations. Whether to enable a mobile workforce is no longer a subject for debate. Deciding which devices and how to develop the infrastructure to support these devices is gaining importance.

The enterprise mobile applications market is on the rise. It is increasingly common practice to include mobile versions into the standard set of business process automation solutions. Many solutions cover the whole spectrum of available operation systems. Thus, developing an appropriate strategy for mobile applications and devices and their integration into the existing infrastructure becomes a priority for many CIOs.

Results of the Western European biannual sample of IDC's 2012 EMEA Enterprise Mobility CIO Survey show that close to half of those surveyed do not yet have a mobility strategy in place for their business. While many organizations tolerate personal devices on their networks to a certain extent, concerns over data leakage, lack of control and an increasing administration and support burden render the implementation of formal, managed BYOD programs rare in Europe.

Russian CIOs and IT directors have to deal with the same problems. Still, the majority of Russian IT professionals who participated in a similar survey see mobility as a must-have to sustain the competitiveness of their business. For 48% of the Russia-based respondents, 2013 is the year when their organizations will develop and adopt their own mobility strategies.
