Nino Giguashvili joined IDC in 2012, bringing more than ten years of policy, healthcare, and research experience to her role as an analyst for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (CEMA). Examining the intersection of healthcare and information technology, her research topics have included national health and social protection systems, public demand for health insurance, cost-effective public health interventions, and barriers to obtaining quality healthcare services.

Prior to joining IDC, Giguashvili worked closely with the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Affairs of Georgia, advising on healthcare reform, policy, and finance issues. She has also worked with a number of international agencies, such as USAID, UNICEF, Oxfam, and the Open Society Institute.

Nino Giguashvili holds a MD from Tbilisi State Medical University, Georgia; a Master's of Public Health from Hadassah University, Israel; and a Master's of Public Administration from the State University of New York University at Albany, United States. In addition to her native Georgian, she also speaks English and Russian.
